Holidays :)

In the Holidays I have been doing really fun stuff, Like going to the pool's, and the beach during summer days. I have really been missing school by the past week. All I have been thinking about is school and also working on my maths and reading with Mr Somerville, Mr Goodwin and Mrs garden. I Cannot wait to be a year 7, and being a senior, And i just want to say a big farewell's to all the year 8's, teachers and people that are leaving. I hope you will be safe and have a good time. Merry Christmas everybody!!!

Bye bye guys this is going to be my last blog post for 2014. I will not be posting in the holiday's because my net book is going away for ever (well until 2015 anyway). I will miss every one that has been on my blog commented and have followed. Thank you to all. And i hope we all have a good future. Dont Forget Be a winner not a whiner and if you are still at school listen to your teachers parents and do what you have to do. Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year

Kyan Camp Bentzon

Last Tuesday The year 6’s from Pt England school went to Kawau Island. They Have went on a 1 hour bus drive to Kawau Island. We had taken A fairly down to Camp bentzon. It was so cool because got to see dolphins.

As Soon As We got to camp Bentzon We had a 2 hour Hike. It was so long and tiring, But it was worth seeing the Beautiful Trees, Plants, and Water. We Had Walked to the top and Collin had put a rock on top of all the rock’s there.  Then We went down It was really steep so we had to be careful. We stopped at the beach for some lunch.

On that next day of camp we had Activities. It was all Of the water activities, And my favourite was sailing and kayaking. I went kayaking and we went to StingRay bay, Survivor Island, And more. While I was kayaking I have been seeing weird stuff which are Stingrays, And Eagle Rays.  Eagle rays don't have a bar at its tail and its tail is really long. But stingrays have bar on the tip of there tail

On the last night we had our final camp concert. It was The Best, There were 4 teams which were Bentzon, Mansion, Kawau, And Katz. I have the list of who came what in the camp concert. 4th was Katz, 3rd was Kawau, 2nd Was Mansion, So the 1st was Bentzon, They all were screaming that they won the camp concert. People were going ohh because there team didn't win.

For Camp it was cool and exciting. WE have seen the wildlife that is over in Kawau Island like Wallabies, Tui’s, Stingrays, Eagle rays, and Weka’s. The Best thing over there for me was the nature, Mountains, And the beach looking from up the mountain. I give Camp bentzon 10 out of 10 and im looking forward to going the year 8 camp

WALT: explain to your reader what being a good friend means Do you know what a friend is? Well it is your lucky day. Friends are one or more people that are nice and want to be friends with you. They a really good buddy’s to people and they would be there for you any time or if you're angry. They can cheer you up with their joyful smiles and their technique of making people happy. 

Friends Can be super duper helpers even if you’re moving out and you get into trouble they will help you, hey that's what friends are for. They care for you, Even when you do something bad to them they will still be your friends. So if I were you I wouldn't break a Relationship with your good friends. 

 Can Friend’s be like family? Yes they can if they are so nice and respect your family. They are just like family if they are your friends. A friend is apart of your group if they do good stuff for you. If you're having a cross fire with them its alright because it can be the same thing as what a real family will do. So really they are meant to be in your family and to be nice, kind, good, and hopeful to you aswell as others to. 

They are your friends because if you have bumped into each other or have worked each other, Then There will be a chance of being friends. If they were nice people and you would like to be friends just ask really nicely “Would you like to be my friend” Or be kind to them. If they say yes make sure that you say thank you. 

 Friends can do everything for you so sometimes you have to do stuff for them, and thats what they do. If you're fighting with them, well don't because they are your friends. If you need help Just ask really nice and they will help you with that.

Being Fit

Did you know your body is an amazing machine? It just needs to be used everyday to keep it working well.

Exercise keeps your body strong and fit. Fitness means having the energy to work, and play and do all the things you want to do easily. Your body can not store fitness. So you need to exercise regularly to stay fit.

Exercise makes you feel and look better. It keeps your body a healthy weight. It helps you relax and sleep better, and when you exercise your body produces chemicals called Endorphin's, Which go to your brain and makes you feel good.

Exercise for strength makes your muscles stronger. So you can work different parts of your body without feeling weak. Exercise for stamina makes your heart and lungs stronger, and helps blood flow easily around your body. Stamina is the ability to exercise for longer without getting tired or out of breath.SO YOU NEED TO MOVE IT!

Capital Letters

Capitals are upper case letters, they are bigger than lower case letters. Some Upper case letter have different shapes from the lower case letters like “A” and “a”. 

 Do you know when to use a capital letter and how to use it? Well i know how to. Capital letters can be used for a start of a sentence or a start of a name. The size of a capital letter is the top line. To use capitals, you can use it for titles like Mcdonalds, movies, shops, companies, and school’s. There are lots of other titles to use with capitals. There has to be capital letters because it makes sentences or words tidy. 

 Dates are a name’s of Day’s, Year’s or Month’s. Days and months have to capital letter like for an example “It is November, Tuesday”. You can use capitals also for seasons, and celebrations. Like Labour day, and Merry Christmas. 

 Did you know that there is different ways to say “I”. Well your lucky. You can use I for pronouns and apostrophes. For an Example, I’m, I’ll, and I’ve. You have to put a capital for I when it is by itself. It makes I look better and more explanation. 

There a lots of words that you have to put in with capitals. It is annoying this, but guess what you’ve got to do, what you have to do. It helps you do better and make sentences tidy.

New Building For Pt England school

New buildings for Pt England School

At Pt England School Student have been waiting for their new buildings to be built.

Builders have been coming to Pt England school to make new buildings, for kids that have old leaky classes. They need new classes for a bigger classroom so students aren't crowded and frustrated by commotion. It has been so frustrating for them being in a small old classes.

There a two big buildings, One is near where the junior park used to be. The one near the junior park has five classroom’s in it. Also for the other big building near the kindergarten it has four classrooms in it.

Students have been waiting for a long time. It has started during the start of the year and it will be finished around October and November.  It is nearly finished and students will be happy.

Once these buildings are finish there is a chance of more construction sites at Pt England school.

Jacket For year 7&8 - why not for year 6 in Pt England School? Pt England Kyan Is it fair that year 7 & 8 get jackets? They had an optional choice of which jackets to have. Some year 6 kids think its not fair. For some of the Students in the intermediate grades can not afford senior jackets. The jackets are Really Expensive.School jackets cost $55 dollars and the culottes for the seniors cost $56 dollars. The jackets were picked between two and three years ago. The prefects of the school had chosen a black jacket. Mrs flavell Said “When they were Turning into intermediate if they would like a change to if they still want to wear their sweat shirt.” The jackets are Mostly plain black and a bit red. It has a Pt England logo on it and it is a zip up jacket. It has warm sleeves with fur in them which makes it warm and cosy. WALT: use the structure of newspaper articles to write my own article.

Introduction:

Who Do You think will win the 20th Commonwealth games this year?  The day we have been waiting to see entertainment, fit people, strong, and healthy people to. There are 73 Country’s Competing In this big event for this year. It Comes Every 4 years . It begins in different countries like delhi and victoria. And Do you know that they sort it out where its going to be next before the Commonwealth games start. Most Importantly To Be in the Commonwealth games you have to be ruled by the queen and to sign a contract of peace. So some countries Like Russia And Israel can't Compete in it. Let The Games Begin!!!!!

Shot Put:

Till the first day of Commonwealth games Shot put has been one of the hardest events. The Metal Ball For men weighs 7.260 kilograms and also for women it is 4 kilograms. We have Two Special people competing in Shot put For the men's shot put A New Zealander named Tom Walsh. And For the women’s it is Valerie Adams. Tom Walsh Had won a Silver Medal and Valerie Adams won Gold. We All Should Be proud Of Valerie and Tom.

Judo:

Did you know that judo is a sport that takes part in commonwealth games? Judo is a Thai Japanese martial arts Combat that is used for self defense. In 1882 judo became a form of jujitsu, Karate, And Kyudo. Did you know even the military used It as hand to hand combat. In this sport people may get injured that is why there is safety response.This art is very unique To be used in any ways.

Hockey:

Did you hear that  hockey is a sport that takes part in commonwealth games

this game involves a stick and skating shoes.This game is performed in an icy ground.

In this sport there could be accidents that could lead to fights.Did you know that hockey has been around for 200 years.I think that commonwealth games is a good thing it gives people a goal.

I reckon that Commonwealth games should come every two year and for it to be on longer. Commonwealth Games has recently been the best event in the year of 2014.

Once there were two ninjas name kishu and jet. They liked doing fighting moves. They did lots of moves like front flips and backflips. They have never had A fight or had A chance to jump and do flips over their enemies. There were two robbers that jumped into there house and tried stealing all their weapons and there important jewelry for there grandma. They heard something strange so they ran outside. They tried scouting them and some of the robbers jumped out of the bush. Tried to kidnap them . They Silently run inside and get away. They weren't sure that they were strong enough to use their combat on them. They were so young to.

Once upon a time there was a boy named Jacob. He had no fear at all he had a brother named Zion. The brothers are always doing dangerous adventures like free falling into portals that lead to other galaxies. They also fight big monsters like harpy's sea monsters and giants. These two brothers have four powers. one is shape shifting the second is flames. And the third is health fourth is electric force field. One day they stumbled into a underground portal that lead to the entrance to a maze Jacob made a bad mistake. He went into the maze and he got lost so Zion went in after him he found Jacob laying flat he was half demolished by a plant he had died. He was all alone he had heard a story that if you find the sacred gem it can grant you any wish it can even revive people. TO BE CONTINUED.

On a pitch black night in the sub-zero Atlantic ocean in the most luxurious liner  titanic. Warm cozy in the first class cabin room no noise at all not even a swish from a wave suddenly we heard a crash on to the ship. The titanic has crashed in the iceberg every one racing for a life boat the ice cold water is flooding the front compartments causing titanic to begin lifting the humongous stern of the ship up.

The boiler stacks  snapped off the ship it smelled of smoke people choking  and dying.

unexpectedly the titanic started to snap in the middle it is going to snap we are all terrified people jumping  off the ship in the water. People drowning and dying of hypothermia i had one last choice either to jump into water for a life boat or go down with the ship. Keep your eyes on for part 2. which is coming soon.

The biggest cause was the ice berg hitting it making holes in the titanic and over floating. And snapping in half.

It Took 3 years to build it and 3,000 workers had to build it.

700 people made it of on the life boats.

Question 5 information:

There was only 2,200 passengers on the boat and there 1st, 2nd class, 3rd class.

The freaky house in the middle of no where

On A pitch black night 2 kids went trick or treating in the middle of no wear, for hours the two kids were looking for A house. Then they saw A light blaze A distance away so the two boys sprinted to the house. As they pressed the doorbell the door swung open and almost hit the the two boys they yelled out ‘’HAHAHAHAHAHAHA’’. They heard A man say ‘’get out of my house get out of my house’’. The two kids said where's my candy bro he replied ‘’come hear’’ the kids were following the sound. Then they heard something crack, It was filled with candy the kids went crazy then a man walked out of a bed room. He looked freaky when the 2 kids saw the man they ran away when he on the lights he looked like A nerd.

The 2 kids went back and saw him they started laughing their guts out they said ‘’we thought you were A criminal’’ the man said ‘’well i'm not i tried to open the door but it swung open and the thing that dropped was my candy bowl so i hid in my room and then you guys ran away’’ then the kids said ‘’but you yelling to us doesn't cut it’’ Then the man said ‘’OOOOOO i thought you guys were robbing my house’’. So the two little boys said ‘’well bye then’’ the man replied ‘’bye’’.

Rainbows End

Have you ever been to a theme park called Rainbows End before?

On a really good day with a blue sky and some white clouds.

My family and i got ready to go Rainbow's End for a celebration of my birthday on April 19.

We got in my van and started zooming off to rainbows end. While we were in the van my brothers were singing loud. When we got there there were smiles.

I was full of excitement to go on the new ride the Stratosphere. We got in Rainbows End and  i went really fast to the new ride. When i got there it was a very long line. I was waiting for minutes and minutes.

Then finally it was me and my brothers turn to go on. They had to check maysun and me to see if we were tall enough and they " you are absolutely fine to go on." When the instructor told us to go on we were nervous it look like it was gonna go so high. when we went up it was going in loops which was making me dizzy and sick.

Next ride up was the Power surge. Only my mum and i wanted to go on it. Spinning around and around it was crazy. It was going for longer then i thought it would go. When we were finish i said “ PHEWW that was extreme.” Next Was the alien spaceship The Invader It went so high and fast up in to the sky. My brother was screaming for ages. It was rolling on blue track going back and forward. I was getting butterflies until it stopped. I was so happy it stopped because i felt like i was gonna spew.

We went on all the other rides and it was fun. My favourite rides were the Stratosphere, Bumper Carts, Log flume, Invader, Power surge, and finally Pirate Ship.
I was disappointed because we had to go. But it was fine i loved it at rainbows end. Next time it would be cool. I give it a 10 out of 10.

Mini book review

Pirate Galleon: I have been loving the book lately it is a awesome book. It has like pirate gangs, dangerous monkeys, and deep oceans. I am up to page 54. Charlie smalls has been a cabin boy for long and a prisoner for those stubborn pirates and is trying to escape.

Flax Rules

Rules for working with flax:

1. You must treat the flax with all your care

2. Cut the edges and the mid rib

3. Cut the flat Stripes the same length

4. Never step on flax when someone is using it

5. Do Not have it for yourself share with others as gifts

Things to remember with cutting flax:

1. A flax has lots of leaves but make sure you do not cut the three middle ones only cut the outer blades

2. Cut it downwards Not upwards

3. When you are finished using the flax it back under the flax bush so its not wasted

Mini Book Review

Gorilla city: I am finished my book. It is really cool because it interesting and funny it has maps and mysteries. Its a charlie smalls journal his first. It is awesome when i was reading it. In my imagination it felt like i was in it. Crocodiles, deadly Gorillas, and the finale non eatable Hyena's. DAH DAH DAH. What will happen on his next Journal called Pirates Galleon. We'll Find out HAR HAR HAR. HARDY TIMBERS.

FiaFia

As soon as I got home I had A shower and I got changed then waited for my family. As we entered the door for the breeze we saw lots of stands and beautiful food. When I heard my Dad say lets go we walked into our changing room which was the staff room. When we got in to our changing rooms everyone was hiding in little gaps getting changed.

When we all got changed we went out to Fiafia and We sat down. We watched Really awesome performances then it was our turn on the stage. I was nervous but I still did it when i went up on the stage there were thousands of people staring at us I but it felt weird because when the Tongan group went up to perform all of the front rows legs were shaking but when i saw parents cheering i wasn't nervous. We were waiting for the little kids to finish the dance and we would marching through the gaps and the little kids went off the stage. Finally the big kids marching  down like Tongan warriors stomping the stage and mighty strong acts. We finished all our moves and marching off the stage all sweaty. We watched the rest when it was finished we were blessed off with a karakia by mr Burt. Everyone tired some walking home, some driven home and some biked home all tired.               

                

Bmx

Once upon a time there was a boy named Matthew. He had a dream about riding a bmx bike. He wanted to be like the big boys how they race and do tricks. So he went home and said to his mum begging Excitingly  “please.”So they went looking for a bike. They found him the fastest, shiniest, and the smoothest bike ever.  The second day with his bmx. Riding pass him was the big boys. So he went to the bmx track to try out his bike. He tried doing some tricks but he failed. He met a boy named Josh. He was a professional biker. Him and matthew began his lessons. to be continued next part coming soon.

Black Ops 2

Once there were boys named David and Boyd They liked playing Black ops 2. They walked in a store called Bros Gamos (Its a mexican store) . It had lots of games like Sonic, Modern Warfare, Wrestling, And lots more. They saw their favourite game Black ops 2. In Excitement Boyd quietly said “dude are you thinking what im thinking.” YES Yelled David Black ops 2 But there was only one problem it was $80 and they didn't have that kind of money. They only had $10. They had to earn pocket money so they ran home dashing because Black ops was the favourite deal and there was only one more. They got home looking for money in the garage. There were a lot of money in the garage but were secretly hidden they were chucking everything everywhere. When they were looking a beam of light came out of a box. They were spriest that a parapsychological thing happened. Coming out of the beam was a sergeant of black ops.  Straight Heading out of the gun was a 10 inch bullet with sleep potion in it. “Argh” yelled Boyd, And David when they got hit in the neck they fell right to the floor.

Gorilla City

This morning we got some new books. I saw the one that was right for me which was the book called Gorilla city. It has great vocabulary interesting pictures and funny looking cards. its about a man named charlie small. I give it a 10 out of 10.

WWE 2K14

Once there were two boys they walked into A extraordinary game store there were heaps of games and controllers but they really wanted to get this game called WWE 2K14. It has heaps of wrestling superstars and wrestling legends. As they were leaving the saw A game helmet the sign said get yours today only 10$. Jack said to Drake ‘’should we get it’’ he said with exasperation. So they grabbed two of those helmets and walked up to the counter the man said you guys come here every day to buy games and controllers why is that the man said in A very suspicious voice Jack Answered and said because ‘’we always lose our games and always break our controllers’’. So the man said would you like sweet EB games cards they yelled YES !!! so the man said to them what's your first name and last name the man said they said Jack and Drake. He said take your cards and have A good day.

When they got home the put their helmets on and put the game in and started playing with it they said the is awesome Jack said After 8 hours of playing games there was A little glitch with the helmets and the glitch took Drake and Jack into the game. Jack said ‘’Where are we’’ said Jack and Josh replied ‘’I don't know’’ they saw A little light and the walked down steps and Drake and Jack said look there is Batista and The shield. They looked at themselves and Jack was John cena and Drake was randy orton They ran into the ring and started beating up the Shield then Drake did the RKO on to Roman regines.

When they got sucked out of the game they were amazed. Now every day now they always go in to the game and one day they were on TV they were so siked that they were on TV.

Swimming Reflection

Swimming is one of my favorite sports or should I say one of my best sports. Mr S’s maths class always goes swimming every day. It’s extraordinary because we have instructors that teach us how to swim and be confident in the water. The first time that Mr S’s maths class went swimming we had to do A swimming test so they know which group to put us in. They put me in group three which is the highest swimming group. The next day we came we had to get our togs and go to the pool’s. When we got there I said to myself ‘’ahh it’s good to be back’’ So we had to rinse ourselves off and we hoped in the pool with joy. Our instructor said to us ‘’get A board each put your hands in the front and freestyle kicking all the way to the other side.’’As soon as we got there we were waiting for the other people to finish I was doing really cool back and ford flips. We had A short lesson of swimming so we got changed and left the pools in excitement.

The next day Class 8 went swimming again but on fridays after swimming we go TC which stands for Tamaki college. So we got our togs and went swimming but it was different because we had to bring our whole bag with our lunch so after we go swimming we eat our lunch and then we go and walk all the way down to Tamaki College But in the mean time we went swimming as usual so when we got there we had to get changed and have A shower it was amazing because I went in the freezing cold one. Then we hopped in the pool it was warm suddenly but i just couldn't put my finger on it May be it was the cold water that made me warm from my shower. Group three Is really interesting because Group one and two don't do the stuff that we do. I found out from my Mum that if you go swimming you use all your muscles in your body. Group three’s swimming is very complicated Because we swim the whole pool The other groups have to swim half way of the pool. After swimming we went Tamaki college to do some activities.   

After A long day of swimming finally we finished the day by going to TC and after we went to TC we went back to school and get our school bags ready to go back home and enjoy our Inspirational weekend.
