2013 Reflection

This is my 2013 Reflection. For this this term is What in world is going on. This is a really fun term.

Writing

For me writing is good. I like writing because if you keep writing. You will get smart at words. And get fast at typing.

Maths

In maths i am above. I am in the highest group called diamonds. It has all the brainy people in there. For me maths is easy. And for maths i give it a 10 out of 10.

Reading

For reading i am reading above my age which is good. I love reading cause its really easy for me. I bet that reading will be easy for you to. AT my reading test the reading teacher said i'm a very good reader and i am 9 and i'm reading at 14. I give this a 10 out of 10.

Elearning

For E learning i was the first one to finish. I was really happy that i was finished. I want my  e learning goals to be at 5. I love elearning you can draw anything on it. I give this a 10 out of 10.

Sports

For this year i didn’t have any sports but for my rugby league club. My team was undefeated. I got three trophies. I was so happy and we got the best team of the year.

Ambury Farm

At the 26th of november the whole year 5’s had a trip which was Ambury farm. When we got there we met two nice ladies Debbie, And Janine. They were experts at farming. First thing we did was get into our groups. Did you know ambury farm is a very cool place to go to so you can learn about animals. LIke facts, and interesting stuff.  

At ambury farm i found out that cows can make up to 25 or more litre’s of milk.  I also found out that sheep have special oil called lanolin. When sheep are outside and when its raining there fur get wet but the inside of the fur don't get wet they stay warm and dry.

At ambury farm i wanted to see the bull but i couldn’t find the bull. The bull’s were gone. As soon as we walked pass the piglets i saw all the piglets i thought they they were cute and they were very cute.  

I said “look at the piglets aren’t they cute”. But there was one piglet he was the smallest i felt sorry for that one because it couldn’t get milk and the  bigger ones were pushing it away.  I saw the turkey’s they looked very scary and angry one jumped fast up to the fence and over it. As soon as we had to go i was sad. I didn’t  want to leave because it was so fun there.

I really loved ambury farm i give it a 10 out of 10.

The Over weighted Watermelon

Here is a story starter i made on my chrome book hope you like it

Once upon a time there was an over weighted water melon that was scared of spiders. His name was melonade. He liked to drink lemonade on a hot day that is why he called his self melonade. One day he was walking through the forest and he saw a spider. He was freaking out when the spider struck at him. He got very frightened. The spider was poking him and making him die he didn't die because he shaked and the spider went flying into the tree and the watermelon squashed it.

When the spider struck him he attacked with his  poisonous strike. He was dying. After a few  days he was getting rotten and he blew up. The spider was a trianchulah who struck him. He was a very good watermelon his wife was very sad when he died but guess what? He grew up again And he was so happy this time he wasn't scared of spiders anymore. So he lived happily ever after.

Manaiakalani Film Fest

Yesterday for manaiakalani film fest i was a presenter. I was so nervous that i had to stand up on the stage in front of over 600 hundred people. And i had to present our movie.And we did our presentation twice. My partner was Rowana. Our movie was called Who Pushed Humpty? My favourite movie was Teen beach from Room 14. That was my favourite movie because the songs. And i like the real movie to. It was very short because we had to cinemas going the Extreme Screen and the other Cinema. As soon as it was my turn i went up my speech was kia ora my name is kyan. Did you know humpty could have been a riddle, or about a king, or about a clumsy person that keeps falling over. Was he pushed or did he fall watch our movie to find out. When we finished we walked down the stage And as soon as i got off i didn't feel nervous anymore.

Athletics

Have you’ve ever had athletics before? On friday morning we had Athletics . My House Colour was yellow which is for Takitimu. Before we had athletics we had to go to the courts and we sorted out what we were gonna do first.

 This years athletics was different to last years athletics. This year we were in grade’s but last year it went in ages. I was really looking forward to athletics. First up we had High jump the first level of the bar was easy for me. But when it went higher it got hard for a lot of us.

as soon as we finished High jump these people where the winner Sohel, Stevenson, and Jordan. After that we had sprints i had to race against lots of fast people. My heart was beating when Mr burt was gonna clap the clappers. then as soon as i heard a big “BANG!” i ran fast.

But i came fourth i wasn't happy that i came fourth. then i had my second race and in that race me and Aaron came a tie at third. but i didn't make it in the finals. The third activity we did was discus.

For em discus was hard because the discus was too big for me to hold i couldn't swing it far. But i did my best i nearly came third but just 2 metres away from it. the boy’s that made it was Cyrus, Stevenson, and Jordan. I really liked athletics because we had lots of activities. we had more than seven activities.

Narrative Practice

Hi in my class we have been practicing how to write a narrative so this is my Narrative. Hope you like it. Have you've been Bullied before? On a nice sunny day there were lots of kids. They all had a picnic at the park. There was a boy name Jake he was all lonely. There was three boys and they were bullies everyday he wanted to go to the park he would get bullied by them. As soon as he got home he had a black eye his mum was so worried about him. He didnt want to tell his mum. Because he would get bullied he said he has had enough of them bulling them so he got all his friends to scare them and never come back. So they didn't but one day they came back they even bullied him more and he got so injured he was dying he had to go to the hospital. But he got all healed. The boys that were bullying him they moved out. Jake was so happy he said “YAY!! i wont get bullied anymore”. After they were gone he lived happily ever after. For this story the boy named Jake he was so friendly and kind. He wasn't bossy and he was a precious boy.

The Bear In The Room Next Door

The bit i liked was when the Bear is under the bed eating his Jumbo Jaffas. I think its very funny because Josh thought that it was a bear but the dad said that it was him snoring but it was actually a bear. I like this story because it is funny so for this story i give it out of 10.

Persuasive Arguments

We should have school from Monday to Thursday and Friday should be part of the weekend. I Agree that we should do School Monday to Thursday because you can Sleep in more and play games. And spend more time with our family. Family is Important because you get to know them better.

I say we should have friday off because there is more time at school then hanging out with our family. I like to hangout with my family like my uncle’s and my cousins. Because i don't really get to see them.

I think this if you want to stay home earlier and do stuff like seeing your family and if you want to and you can relax and play games. Because me in the school weeks im not aloud to play games.

Last Part Of Esther

Today we had C.R.E. Ms Clarke told us the rest of the story Esther invited Haman and King Xerxes to another feast. Esther told King Xerxes what she wanted she wanted all of her people to live. But they couldn't They couldn't change the law. So they made a plan he made another decree the jew's can defend the self's and Guess what? none of the Jews died. And do you know that Haman got Hanged. I really Enjoyed that Mordeccai Alway's telled the truth and that Haman got caught Lieing.

Skype With My Buddie

Today i Skyped with my buddie from Australia. His name is Cullen. I was excited to see his face. Finally i got to see him we asked question’s. I got really stucked by answering his Questions and i was out of questions. So i had to do some question’s of by heart. And guess what i Skyped for an Half an Hour that was Funny. I didn’t realise that i Skyped for a half an hour.

Little Red Riding Hood

Little Red Riding Hood Is known as a french story. It was first made in 1697 by Charles Perrault. and later there was European fairy tale about a young girl and a Big Bad Wolf. The story has been changed considerably in its history and subject to numerous modern adaptations and readings. This story is number 333 in the Aarne-Thompson classification system for folktales. Little red riding hood can be called different names. Like Little red cap, and Red Riding Hood. Its when A mean wolf wants to eat the girl, and the food in the basket. He secretly stalks her behind trees and bushes and and patches of little grass and patches of tall grass. He approaches Little Red Riding Hood and she naïvely tells him where she is going. He suggests the girl pick some flowers, which she does. In the meantime, he goes to the grandmother's house and gains entry by pretending to be the girl. He swallows the grandmother whole, in some stories, he locks her in the closet, and waits for the girl, disguised as the grandma. Then the Lumberjack came and killed the big bad wolf.

Timeline

Here is a timeline that has a girl turning older and older out through these years and it show's the diffrince of the girl. A timeline is when stuff changes trough out these years. Like games the graphics change.

Esther Continued

Today in C.R.E we had a story of Esther Miss Clarke and Miss Hare. In the story Esther had to Fast for 3 day's. When Esther finished she was standing out on the courtyard then the king saw her. The king put his scepter up to her and she was safe. If the king never put his scepter up to her she would of been killed. Here is a picture of The Scepter.

Esther Continues...

Today in C.R.E We learned About Esther and Mordeccai. Esther and Mordeccai were Jew's so they couldn't find out that they were Jew's. But suddenly Mordeccai got a job he was one of the guard's of King Xerxes's palace. There were two other guard's and they made a very bad plan to kill the king. So Mordeccai told Esther that they were gonna assassinate him. And Mordeccai saved his life. There was a new prime minister and his name was Haman. He made a rule that the people he walk's pass they have to bow to him. When he walked pass Mordeccai he never belled he said he was jewish. Haman told the king there is some people that are not listening to a law. The king put his ring on it so they know it is from the king the law said all the jewish in susa have to be killed. Mordecai got so depressed he started ripping his close of.

Pt Chev Pirate's Break Up

Last saturday i went to rainbow's end with my rugby league team. I went with my dad and Maysun and my mum I was so excited when i got there it was very packed . finally it opened and our manager payed us to get in. Once we got in there we went straight to the Bumper Cart’s it was so fun. I kept on bumping my League mates into the other people my cart was number 12. When it stopped I wanted to go again but we had to go. Next we went to the fear fall. My friend’s and maysun went on it and they got panicky and When it dropped they started screaming. Next we went to the Pirate ship because it represents us. It was very cool and it gave me butterflies. After that we went to the Arcade me and my mum won 2 big soft toy’s one was jerry of jerry and tom and the other one was hello kitty. She scooped up 2 at a time. Next we had lunch i had steak and bacon with bread it was so nice. When we finished having lunch i went to the log flume with Maysun and my friend’s we had to wait for a half an hour and finally it was our turn. After that we had to go i was so disappointed but lucky i got to go to rainbow's end.

Aladdin

Once upon a time there was a cheeky boy named Aladdin. He was very poor and he lived with his mother, she was a widow. They lived in a small village in China. His mother had to work a lot for lot’s of money so they could have food to eat.  They had to work and work but sometimes they still went hungry. Aladdin did not help his mother that much. Life was hard for them.

One day a strange man came and said to Aladdin “I am your uncle Hassan, I am your father's long lost brother.” Aladdin didn’t believe him and was very uncomfortable. Hassan said to Aladdin “take me to see your mother, she is still alive isn’t she?” Hassan bought them lots of food and clothes and Aladdins mum agreed to let him go to the desert with Hassan.

Hassan got some camels and they rode them into the desert. Hassan stopped at a secret place where an underground cave was hidden.  “Go into the cave and bring me back the tatty old lamp” Hassan said to Aladdin “I’m not going down there it’s dark and scary.” Hassan pulled out his dagger and held it on Aladdins throat. “You will listen to me or you will die, I am not really your uncle.” “I am a sorcerer.” Aladdin agreed to go into the cave because he didn’t want to die. When Aladdin went in the cave he was astonished to find lots and lots of treasure in it like gold, rubies, diamond, and crystal’s. Aladdin said “there is a lot of treasure and all you want is a old rusty lamp”. “Just get me the lamp and hurry up!” Hassan shouted. Aladdin searched for the lamp. While he was looking he filled his pockets with lots of the treasure. Aladdin found a beautiful diamond ring and put it on his finger. Suddenly in the middle of the cave he saw the tatty old lamp.  Aladdin grabbed the lamp and headed back to the door to the cave. Aladdin did not give the lamp to Hassan. Hassan shut the cave with a big rock and aladdin could not escape.

Esther

Today in C.R.E, Mrs Clarke told us a story about Esther.

In our story the people were named King Xerxes and Queen Vashti. King Xerxes had a party for half a year and Queen Vashti had a party for 1 week. King Xerxes told his messangers to go tell Queen Vashti to come to there party so King Xerxes can show her off. But Queen Vashti told him no so King Xerxes vanished her and she could never come back. King Xerxes was felling lonely so he made a beauty contest. He gathered all the beautiful woman. And down came Esther the King Really thought that she was beautiful so they got married.


We are learning to be the best and do the best. We can do this by Organizing staff out.

Baketball

On a wet day we had basketball training. Room 13 learned about double dribbling, flick your wrist when you shoot, no blocking, bongos, travelling, fouls, defending, jump stop, attacking, and pocket. The first thing we did for our warm up, we played line tiggy. It was really fun line tiggy is like there are lines and you have to run on the lines and not step off it. If you step of it you are out. After that we did some dribbling with our right arm and our left arm. Using my left arm was pretty hard to do. We had to do practice shooting with our partners my partner was Rowana. Finally we got to do some real shooting i got so excited. Rob our coach said “you guys have dribble jump stop then shoot” and when i did that i got a goal. we lost though the other team won. But that was ok it was only a game.

I like BasketBall because it is really fun and we get to learn a lot of stuff. My favourite of our basketball training was shooting. For Basketball i give a 10 out of 10.

Is it easy to love others?

Today we learned about a story in the bible. It was about Onesimus, Philemon and Paul. Onesimus Was a slave That live in Colossae. He was a slave for a man called Philemon. Onesimus stole money from Philemon And ran away really far to Rome. And there he met Paul. Paul wrote a letter to Philemon and told Onesimus to run back to Colossae and give the letter to Philemon. Paul Reminded him that Onesimus is a follower of Jesus and you and if somebody does somethingwrong you should always forgive them. i think that it's easy to say sorry because When i did something wrong and i didn't mean to do that. People can say bad things to you.

Fairy Investigation

In Room 13 we have been investigating which fairy tales are our most favourite and which ones are our least favourites. I found out that Hansel and Gretel is the most liked fairy tale and Cinderella is the least liked. These charts show my investigation about fairy tales.

King Wolf

It was about a Wolf That was made as King. He made a law that whatever food you catch you had to bring it back to him and he will cut it into pieces. But he went hunting before and did not do what he told the rest to do. I learnt that if you don't share with others they won't share with you or won't give you anything.

Kakariki

This story is about a Kakariki bird and a Kaka bird. Kaka was jealous of Kakariki’s feathers so Kaka started mocking Kakariki every day. Then Kakariki thought that his feathers were ugly so he gave them to Kaka. Then Kakariki Growed Green feathers and he really wanted his red feathers back.

Loving and Caring

Today in C.R.E we learned about showing love to everyone even when its hard. We learned and sang a song today. I find it hard to love people when they are mantle. it makes me feel sad inside when i try to love them. I find it easy to love people when they are happy. I love people when they look help me.

Life Ed Reflection

Peer Pressure mean’s Somebody in Your age group that pushes you to do good and bad stuff. Like an example if somebody tells you to go and steal a packet of smokes and you don't want to and they say just go and the other person says no i not your friend any more. Passive means like your important and i'm not and i'll do whatever you say. Aggressive means like you are bossy and you tell everybody what to do. And Assertive means your important so am I which means your not passive or either you are aggressive.

Lion and the Mouse

One day a little grey mouse went into a fearsome lion’s cave. It was a very dark cave and he was being nosey. After that the lion woke up and clapped his paw down on the mouse. The mouse was trapped and could not escape. He was scared and he thought that the lion was going to kill him but then he said no please i will save you one day but made him laughed and then the mouse ran home to his mother. Then Mouse heard a big “ROARRR” and another big “ROARRR” and mouse knew it was lion so he went to find him and he found lion and lion was trapped in a net. So mouse noared and noared and noared through the ropes and finally lion was free He said “i will never laugh you again”. The End

Lion and Boar

This Aesop fable is about a lion and a boar. They both wanted to go for a drink of water but they were saying let me go first or i will tear you open with my tusks and lion said in anger i will rip you into pieces with my claws. Then Lion and boar were friends they were both saying you go first no no no you go first so they both jumped in and had a long drink. They wanted to the birds. And they knew it was better to be friends than to be food for hungry birds.

CyberSmart

CyberSmart is when you chat to people you should never ever tell them your contact details and if and if there is a ad saying you have won 1,000,000,000 and if its asking for you account number you should never put your account number in. And you if youre on your email you should always click on the right thing.

C.R.E or Christian Religious Education

Mrs Clarke Comes into our classroom every Tuesday afternoon. We have learned lots of diffrent things like:songs and stories. I have learned about Ancient Stories Like Elijah Elisha King Ahab And Queen Jezebell. And I think C.R.E Is very fun.
